Weighting for attention.

Just how first world is First World Asia?

In the advent of Rich Crazy Asians, we surmise to connect things surrounding that glitch in the emergent markets (formerly known as the third world) that brought about a scuttle in the social media - formerly known as just media: where another branch of idiom, couple conjugation name, and another meme that circulated a hundred more stories via the shrapnel of applications that are able to get on the app store, and into your phone, but no idea what people are actually on about. Or is that just what entertainment is now about when the message is the circuitry? We can surmise until the cows grazed home.

But can we really tell?

We get sick of all the pollution of media, and things that are push-media sensitive to your device, and if it’s as personal as your first-touchpoint-mobile-device - usually your phone, this is top space - and considered a one-mm invasiveness to your person. What with the size of the screen and the light that emanates from it, not even measuring the bandwidth radiation that is required to make this happen, we can be certain of the outcomes that are two or three months later down the road, actually be detrimental, and not accrual to your person, in the effecting of your unmindful exposure to all the (personal) media.

“This is how it is now…In the modern life.”

However because we have citizenry and its various responsibilities to both growing the probabilities of positivity and the impact of technology to our (overall) general health, we are able to project into the (vast majority of the) ether, whatever we wanted to happen, or would like to see in the world, according to our gestures, personal vision.

The way forward is the real gesture of what advancing is. On the one hand, media is invasive - on the other, we are empowered to know when “enough is enough” and because it is an acceptable chosen lifestyle to be typing until 11pm on our laptops, we take steps to our personal well-being as well.

“This is how it is now…We just need to go to the gym in the weekends, and the beach, and grab a quick byte to eat.”

And with this empowerment, we enjoy some “real advancements from the ether to actually furthering our lives”.

Tiny companies like Makishi Apparel makes these one-of-a-kind dresses, and thanks to the platform Kickstarter, may never need to mke one again - but have no need for the usual business traps: collateral, 300-page forms, and a backer that will field a longer-than-silk road animated annotations to get the same amount, that someone like me, on a Friday night, might actually spare her pockets for, this dress that has five pockets.

(Because, it’s interesting.)

Ergo, this might seem silly to the 1%, but as i had been kept waiting at a café for longer periods of time than most, this is probably something i am bound to have discovered-on-app incidentally as a project i actually wanted to back…with my Kickstarter one-click “yes, i will back this now” button.

Or wear.

Anyway, you must feel really special because all *this, is actually a serious battle for your *brain space. People have been sabotaging attention since day 1, via paid media advertising (via your various screens), or direct mail (via both your post box or inbox mailers), or your phone messaging boards (sms and telemarketing chats). How can you tell apart the noise, from the actual essential messaging? (I think that might actually be for another post to answer or evolve.)

It’s mainly in your capacity to discern & process to determine what you should now be geared towards: as a real eye-to-brain filtering feature built-in naturally, quite like the augment of an external glass device, that moves faster (and coming at you with heavier guns), kept at pace to stride into the next millennia of all types of digital consumption.

BTW, support this here.

(Typed in my laptop, at 11pm. By the poolside, with a fridge and personal pod air-conditioning.)
